'' There is something you should know about me right off the bat. it's not somethig I confess lightly, but here it goes: I am an optimist. There, now that I've saide it, I feel better. It's not as though I haven't tried to give it up; i have. But I keep going back to it like a duck to water."
"Perhaps with time I will one day become cynical and mature, losing my naive, childish beliefs. But for the time being, I'll make a confession:
I don't think I will. The truth is, I intend to keep on being an optimist. After all, here we are clinging to a tiny speck of dust called Earth, hurtling through space and going who knows where. And all we have is this lttle time squeezed between two great silences. So what is thetre to be pessimistic about?"
